Cathy Bell worked in fundraising at the University of Glasgow for over 30 years. A graduate of the University, she held the post of Director of Development & Alumni. She and her team raised significant donations funding several building projects, posts and scholarships.  She has also held several external roles and currently serves on the boards of Quarriers and of the Dunedin Consort.

She retired with her husband to Ayr in 2019 and was soon aware of the exceptional, compassionate service provided by the Ayrshire Hospice and the scale of ambition in its redevelopment. Cathy is delighted to be able to join the board to help with this great enterprise.

Cathy loves living in Ayr and the opportunities it offered in the difficult pandemic years after she moved here with its beach for long walks. She has also become a keen golfer. She enjoys holidays and time spent with family and friends.
