A lasting tribute to someone you love

At Ayrshire Hospice, we truly understand how it can feel to lose a loved one. Facing bereavement is an important element of hospice care. As a hospice, we offer information and support to the family and friends of people who are cared for by the hospice - both before and after a death. We have a team of fully qualified bereavement counsellors who work tirelessly to provide an individual service to people who may be undergoing the most difficult time of their lives.

We know grief is a natural response when someone dies. We know each person's grief is unique to them and when we lose someone we love, we lose not only a person who was special but a relationship that was unique too.

This year, Covid-19 has robbed us of final hugs, kisses and hand holding; but there are still ways to celebrate, mourn and remember those we love in a meaningful way. That is why we are launching our first ever Forget-Me-Not Appeal.

How does it work?

The Forget-Me-Not Appeal is open to anyone, not just people whose loved one was cared for by our hospice.

Our Forget-Me-Nots are lovingly handmade in Ayrshire by Morrell's Forge Blacksmiths in Kirkoswald and are made from steel and measure approximately 18cm in diameter and 30cm in length.

For every donation of £25 you will receive 1 of our hand-made Forget-Me-Nots.  We will contact you to organise getting

your flower to you before Christmas where you can collect from the fundraising office (Miller Road, Ayr) for you to display it in your garden or at the memorial of a loved one.

By donating towards just 1 flower, you are not only remembering your loved one, but helping to support all the good work the hospice does within the community. Please help us raise £125,000 through donations for 5,000 forget-me-nots for the hospice.

If you would like to dedicate your flower to someone, just enter the details in the box called 'Reason for donation'.

We were hoping to have your flower displayed in our 'Memory Meadow' at the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock until the 22nd December 2020, but unfortunately due to current lock down restrictions we are unable to make this happen. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
