🌿 Important Sustainability Update 🌿

🌍 In our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainability, we will no longer be offering furniture collection services. Instead, we invite you to actively participate in our mission by bringing your donations directly to us. Here’s what you need to know:

🏡 Our Ayr shop will continue to accept all sellable donations, but will no longer be uplifting or collecting from donators.

📍 For your convenience, our Crown Street donation centre in Ayr will now be open from 10am to 4pm. Drive in at your leisure and donate your items in person.

🛋For larger items like furniture, we kindly request that you email photos to [email protected]. Our team will assess your donation and inform you if we can accept it. This ensures that we can maximise the value of your generosity while managing our space efficiently.

We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming support we receive through your donations. Your contributions make a profound impact on our ability to provide vital care and support to those who need it most. 💜

Thank you for embracing these changes with us as we move towards a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious future. Together, we can continue to make a difference in our community of Ayrshire and Arran.

Your support means everything to us, and we look forward to welcoming you to our shops and donation centre.

We completely rely on the generosity of our local community to stock our shops. We accept a wide variety of items with only a few limitations as dictated by Health and Safety Legislation. You can donate: clothing (ladies, gents, children’s), genuine CDs and DVDs, books, china, bric-a-brac, handbags, jewellery, coats, mirrors. If in doubt, give your local shop a call.

We are governed by Health and Safety Legislation, the same as any other retail outlet, therefore we are unable to accept:

  • Toys without a CE tag
  • Furniture items with soft furnishing elements like beds and sofas without a fire retardant label
  • Bicycle helmets

We support local homeless charities and can also redivert items that we cannot sell e.g. Duvets, pillows, sleeping bags etc.

Due to the volume of donations we sometimes receive, we encourage donors to "Ring Before You Bring" and contact your local shop so they can advise you of their current stock holding and the best days or times to donate. We never want to refuse donations and will only put the accepting of donations on hold where we have no other alternative.

Our Crown Street shop in Ayr will accept both furniture and general donations between the hours of 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday via the Warehouse Reception desk located at the rear of the building in our carpark behind the shop. The gates will be open during these hours, when closed unfortunately we are unable to accept donations due to high volume to ensure we always comply with Health and Safety guidance.

Furniture

Our main furniture shop is our Crown Street Home Depot shop and donation centre in Ayr which is large enough to accept all kinds of furniture including sofas, wardrobes, and dining room tables to name but a few. However please call your local shop to check regarding furniture and electric goods donations as not all our shops are in a position to accept them due to limited space.

Rags

We sell any heavily worn clothing to our local textile recyclers – so when you’re having a clear out, and even if you don’t think a piece of clothing is suitable for re-sale, start a rag bag and just let the shop know it’s rags when you hand it in – every little helps!

Gift Aid it

For every £1 your donated goods sells for we can claim a further 25p from HM Revenue and Customs if you are a UK taxpayer - all staff will always ask when you donate and it only takes a moment to register you on our automated systems.
