On behalf of the Ayrshire Hospice Board of Directors, we are delighted to announce that following a process led by the Board’s Appointments and Development Committee, Tracy Flynn – who has been covering the role in recent times - has been formally confirmed as Chief Executive Officer for the next two years.

Tracy brings a wealth of knowledge from across the public, private and third sectors, having held senior nursing and leadership roles within palliative and end of life care settings as well as cancer care and the pharmaceutical industry.

Before returning to the Ayrshire Hospice in October 2021 as Director of Patient and Family Services, Tracy had previously undertaken nursing roles across our In-Patient Unit and Day Services, and worked as a specialist palliative care nurse within our community team where she played a key role in the scoping and development of our Triage service.

Tracy, who spent her childhood in Ayr and later worked in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, now lives in Ayr with her husband and two daughters.

Speaking about her appointment, Tracy said: “it is my greatest privilege to take on the responsibility of CEO of the Ayrshire Hospice for the people of Ayrshire & Arran. My ambition is that everyone across the region, regardless of where they live, should have access to the highest standard of palliative and end of life care.

“The Ayrshire Hospice is a wonderful organisation to be a part of. I personally have a long-standing connection with the Hospice and it is truly important to me to ensure that we build a beautiful new Hospice with patients and their families at its heart.”
