The Ayrshire Hospice’s Light Up a Life will feature as part of Ayr Town Centre’s Christmas Lights display as the local authority shows its support for the Light Up a Life campaign.

This partnership brings together the Hospice’s virtual Christmas trees, which have been decorated with virtual stars kindly donated by their supporters, and Ayr’s own Christmas tree, which the Council has branded with the Hospice’s Light up a Life appeal.

As part of its appeal, you can dedicate a star on one of its online trees in memory of someone special, whether or not they have a personal connection to the Hospice.

Ayrshire Hospice Chief Executive Tracy Flynn, said: “We are pleased to have such a valued friendship and partnership with South Ayrshire Council that supports our Light Up a Life appeal. While Christmas is a time for family and friends to come together, it is also a time to reflect and to remember our loved ones, the Light Up a Life appeal does exactly this.”

South Ayrshire Provost and Business Ambassador to the Ayrshire Hospice, Councillor Iain Campbell, said: “The Ayrshire Hospice’s annual Light Up a Life Appeal means a great deal to families across Ayrshire.  It comes at a time of year when it’s natural to think of loved ones and friends who are no longer with us.  I’m proud to support this initiative that brings comfort to many people who have lost someone dear to them, and to help raise awareness of the wonderful work the Ayrshire Hospice carry out all year round.”
