The majority of our services are accessed by a healthcare professional referring you to the hospice. This could be your GP, consultant, district nurse or physiotherapist for example.

This referral is then received by our triage team who, in consultation with you, will assess your needs and discuss which parts of our service might best suit your needs.

We have also introduced the Integrated Palliative Outcome Scale (IPOS), a self-reporting assessment tool that enables patient and carer’s voices to be heard throughout the hospice journey.

Hospice care is non-denominational and is provided free of charge. It is available to people over 16 years of age throughout Ayrshire and Arran, with the exception of the patient and family support service which can be accessed by individuals of all ages.  The hospice operates an equal access policy, so that no person shall be disadvantaged or suffer adverse discrimination in any aspect of their care as a consequence of cultural, racial, or social characteristics or any form of handicap.

You can self-refer to our counselling and bereavement support service.

If you would like further information about accessing any of our hospice services please contact the hospice at 01292 269200.
