What does "in aid of" mean?

Holding a fundraising  event on behalf of the Ayrshire Hospice is called an "in aid of" event. We have lots of wonderful in aid of supporters doing fantastic things for us across Ayrshire.  There are a few guidelines that you should follow when holding your own event and more information can be found in our fundraising booklet.
