If you are working from home, your clubs have not started back or your social circle are still not comfortable gathering, don’t fret you can still get involved. Online gatherings are very much part of our culture now and that means Go Purple can go virtual!

Not sure where to start, here are a few idea’s … but the sky is the limit, get creative!

Sponsored for Go Purple

Wear purple every day for a whole month, dye your hair purple or dye your beard! Get friends and family to sponsor you, Just Giving is a great online fundraising platform. Upload photos and updates to social media or group chats with the reason you are supporting the hospice and feel that sense of community as you see your fundraising grow.

Commute for Go Purple

Working from home has many pros and cons but saving petrol money or public transport fees are definitely a perk! Could you encourage your colleagues to donate what they would usually spend on commuting to work for the day to your Go Purple?

Relax for Go Purple

Working from home can be very stressful, life can be very busy and we tend to forget to take time to breath and reboot.  We are delighted to have Vicki Rogers from My Kind Yoga & Wellbeing record a 20minute relaxation session suitable for all, and ideal for those home working or who just want to gather with friends and family to share the experience.   Set a time for all your colleagues to join you on Teams or Zoom and share the You Tube link as you all take on a guided mediation with breathing and gentle movement.  Ask everyone to pay forward and make a donation to Go Purple.

Move for Go Purple

Sign up to our Facebook Challenge ‘Star Jumps for October’ and complete the challenge wearing Purple! All the fundraising is done via a Facebook Fundraiser and you join the Facebook Group to meet other people doing the challenge, help motivate each other and inspire with your progress.  Or if Star Jumps are not for you make up your own sponsored challenge and add a touch of Purple to your training routine.

Play for Go Purple

Virtual quizzes and bingo nights are great ways to come together virtually.  If you have fancied yourself as a Quiz Master or like the thought of calling out ‘Two little ducks!’ then use a platform such as Zoom or Teams to set up a fundraising event (with purple dress code of course!). You could charge an entry fee and source a purple related prize for the winner, alternatively they could win a percentage of the entry money.  Either way it is a fun filled way to come together online and support your local hospice.

Work for Go Purple

Even working from home you can get your company involved, why not ask your colleagues to attend your usual meetings wearing purple! You can set up a Just Giving Page and ask everyone to donate a few pounds to join in.  Have a prize for the best dressed or for the person wearing the most purple! You could have a raffle, if you request prizes you could try to get E-vouchers so the prizes can be given out electronically.

Guess for Go Purple

Guess the balloons is this year’s sweepstake challenge and the image is included in your fundraising pack (we can also send electronically if you’d prefer).  Bring your colleagues onto a Teams or Zoom call and show them the image for 20 seconds and let the guessing begin! Set up a Just Giving page or use online banking and charge everyone £2 per guess. You can source a prize for the person who is closest to the answer or give a percentage of the money raised.
