Visiting the In-Patient Unit

We understand how important it is to be with your loved one when they are unwell. Visitors are welcome at any time, but we ask that visits reflect the wishes of the person in our care. Rest is an important part of wellbeing, so if needed, our team will gently support patients in getting the quiet time they need.

Some people enjoy company during mealtimes, while others prefer privacy—we’ll always respect these personal choices. If you’d like to stay for extended periods, whether for occasional overnights or continuously, we will do our best to accommodate this. Loved ones can stay in the patient’s room or one of our family rooms, depending on what feels right for them.

We have open visiting hours in our In-Patient Unit, but we kindly ask that visits are planned in line with your loved one’s wishes, ensuring they have time to rest.

Mealtimes can be a private and important part of the day, so where possible, we ask that visits are arranged around them unless your loved one prefers otherwise. Meals are typically served from 12–1pm and 5–6pm, with breakfast provided at a time that suits each patient.

If you need to visit between 8pm and 8am, please speak to our nursing team so we can ensure access to the building.

Everyone has their own preferences, and you know your loved one best. If possible, ask them what they’d like you to bring. Many patients appreciate flowers, toiletries, nightwear, sweets or treats, and books.

If you’re unsure—perhaps due to dietary needs, allergies, or other considerations—our nursing team is happy to advise.

Pets are very welcome in our In-Patient Unit, as we know they are part of the family. If you’d like to bring a pet to visit, please speak with our team to arrange it.

We kindly ask that pets remain under your care at all times and are safe around other patients, staff, and visitors. Any unexpected mess should be tidied up and reported to a staff member, who can assist with any additional cleaning to maintain infection control standards. Our gardens are open to all visitors and offer a lovely space to spend time together.
