Staying with us

Whether you’re coming to stay as a patient or as a loved one supporting someone in our care, we want you to feel as comfortable and supported as possible. Our In-Patient Unit is designed to be a warm, welcoming space where you can focus on what matters most.

Our In-Patient Unit provides specialised care that may not be available elsewhere, with a focus on helping you feel comfortable, supported, and in control of your care. Our experienced team is here to provide high-quality, personalised support tailored to your needs, wishes, and goals.

We understand that staying in a hospice can feel daunting, but many people find the experience far more positive than they expected. Our compassionate team works hard to create a warm, welcoming environment that feels as homely as possible. We encourage you to share your preferences—whether it’s your daily routine, favourite foods, or small comforts that help you feel at ease—so we can make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Most people are admitted for a short stay of up to two weeks, often to help manage symptoms that cannot be controlled at home. If you require ongoing care, we’ll work with you and your loved ones to explore the best options, whether that’s staying with us, returning home with support, or moving to a longer-term care setting. Whatever happens, we’ll be here for you and those closest to you every step of the way.

Things to bring:

Your room includes space for personal belongings, and we encourage you to bring toiletries, comfortable clothing, nightwear, and suitable footwear. You’re also welcome to bring personal items such as photographs, bedding, or small decorations to make your space feel more like home.

When you arrive, please bring all your current medications along with your latest GP prescription list, if possible. This helps us ensure your medication record is accurate and, where appropriate, allows us to use your own prescribed medications to avoid waste.

If you’d like to stay with your loved one at the hospice, you are more than welcome. Every patient room has a comfortable visitor bed, along with access to bathroom facilities. If you’d prefer, and if space allows, you may also have the option to stay in our dedicated family accommodation nearby.

Our family accommodation is close to the ward and includes an ensuite bathroom, sofa bed, TV, and WiFi.

If this is something you’d like to consider, please speak to a member of our In-Patient Unit Nursing Team. We’ll do everything we can to make sure you feel supported and comfortable during your time with us.
