Support our Ribbon to Remember Appeal this summer. Dedicate a ribbon to someone who has brought colour to your life and help raise vital funds for the Ayrshire Hospice.

My name is Lorna Paton and I am a Senior Care Assistant in the in-patient unit at the Ayrshire Hospice.

I’ve worked at the hospice for 28 years and it’s been a privilege to care for our patients and their families at one of the most difficult times of their lives. I hope you will consider supporting our Ribbon to Remember Appeal this summer to help pay for the vital hospice care that so many local people need across our communities.

Rachel’s Story

The final days of a person’s life are incredibly precious, both for them and their loved ones. Click here to read a very moving message from Rachel Collins, whose dad, Tom, we looked after in 2007. Please take time to ready Rachel’s story – she explains why Ayrshire Hospice care is so special.

Support our appeal

You can make a real difference this summer by donating to our Ribbon to Remember Appeal. The care we provide is completely free of charge and funded in the main by voluntary donations and fundraising from kind, generous local people like you. With your gift, we can provide a lifeline to families going through the toughest of times, allowing them to make special memories that will last a lifetime and make the most of the time they have together, no matter how long or short that might be.

When you make a donation to the appeal, we’ll email you to thank you and also ask if you would like to dedicate a ribbon to someone special. We will write your message on your ribbon and display it in the hospice – and we can also email you a photo of your ribbon.

A donation of £25 would allow a family to stay in our Wee House, for one night, so that they can be close to a loved one. Two hours of direct nursing care for someone in our in-patient unit will cost £39.26. A gift from you today could pay for some of that vital care this summer. Please, give whatever you can – just fill in the donation section on the donation form here.

Thank you

Caring for a loved one during their last few days can be incredibly difficult, both physically and emotionally. It is a real honour to be able to help people at this difficult time and we become the support for the family for that period. It is only thanks to the generous donations from supporters like yourself that we can make a real difference to our patients and their families.

On behalf of everyone here at the hospice, thank you and I very much hope that you’ll feel able to support your local hospice once more.
