About us Latest news Make a Will Make a Will, Make a Difference Our 'Make a Will Fortnight' campaign takes place during October 2021 and it's another fantastic opportunity to support your local hospice. Between Monday 18th and Friday 29th October, people in Ayrshire will have the opportunity to make or update their Will in exchange for a donation to the hospice. By making a Will, you can ensure that those closest to you are looked after in the future. You'll not only be taking care of your loved ones but also helping your local hospice by supporting the campaign. It's easy and affordable - all you have to do it arrange an appointment with one of our participating solicitors listed here View List of Participating Solicitors Kathryn Howell, Senior Fundraising Officer at Ayrshire Hospice said: "Thank you to all the participating solicitors who are giving their time and expertise free of charge to support our Make a Will Fortnight." The first Make a Will Fortnight was in 2011 and - so far - has raised an amazing £215,000 for the hospice. Over 30 solicitors across Ayrshire & Arran take part, preparing and updating Wills during the two-week campaign. Kathryn added: "If the time is ever right for you to remember a charity in your Will, please remember Ayrshire Hospice. Every gift in every Will, regardless of size, makes a difference to the exceptional and compassionate care we provide to patients and their families today and in the future. You can leave us a gift of even 1% in your Will so those closest to you inherit 99%." The care provided by Ayrshire Hospice is at no cost to patients or their families, however, it requires extensive, ongoing fundraising support. It costs £7.9million per year to run all hospice services, including patient, fundraising and support services - equating to approx. £22,000 per day.
