Therapets

Posted on 14 November 2017 by Monika Reichelt

For some years now it has been recognised that pets are good for us!  Research studies have proven that stroking a dog or cat can slow down the heart beat and reduce blood pressure, amongst other benefits.

The visits from our furry friends mean so much to patients who look forward to seeing them, as do the staff, carers and visitors to the hospice.

The hospice currently has 2 registered Therapet volunteers however we are always happy to welcome more. You can find out more about volunteering as “Therapetter” at www.canineconcernscotland.org.uk.

We want to say a big thank you to our “Therapetters” and look forward to more visits in the coming years.
