Ayr Seaforth Athletic Club has made a generous donation of £350 to Ayrshire Hospice following their successful sale of running spikes. The money donated will be used to implement a fitness initiative in the hospice gardens where patients and their families will be able to follow newly marked out walking routes, perform exercises and circuits suited to their individual needs, as well as enjoy a fun group activity such as putting or basketball.

Caron Shanks, the Ayr Seaforth Athletic Club committee member said: “Many people in the local community have been touched by the services of the Ayrshire Hospice.

When we were deciding where to donate funds raised from the running spike sale,

it came to our attention that the hospice were hoping to create a special exercise area for patients and their families. This was the perfect opportunity for us to make a difference”.

Claire Miller, Physiotherapist at Ayrshire Hospice said: “We are extremely grateful for the kind and generous donation from Ayr Seaforth Athletic Club. Thanks to this wonderful support we will be able to expand our services even further and create an outdoors exercise area in the hospice grounds that I am sure everyone will enjoy”.
