The Ayrshire Hospice Board has appointed a new Chair - Mr John Corrigan from Stewarton in East Ayrshire. John has been a Board member since 2012 serving on the full Board, various governance committees and facilitating the Ayrshire Hospice Business Ambassador programme.

Mandy Yule, Chief Executive of the Ayrshire Hospice commented: “I am delighted that John Corrigan has been elected as Chair of the Board.   I am confident that he, together with the rest of the Board, will continue to provide a clear vision, ensure robust governance and set the appropriate strategic direction for the hospice in the years ahead. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Board members for their continued commitment and loyalty to the hospice and look forward, along with the Senior Management Team, to working together in the coming years for the people of Ayrshire”.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chair, Mrs Sheena Cochrane for the positive and invaluable contribution she has made to the Ayrshire Hospice since becoming a Board member in 2004 and latterly as our Chair. We all wish her well for a very happy and well deserved retirement”.

John Corrigan said “It is a privilege and a weighty responsibility to take up the role of Chair of Ayrshire Hospice Board. It is always humbling to see first-hand, the compassion, commitment and ingenuity of the employed and voluntary staff who time and time again ‘make today matter’ for hospice patients and their families, from every corner of Ayrshire. I simply want to play my part by doing what is necessary to ensure the hospice continues to be held in such high esteem for decades to come”.

“Our new Vice-Chair Elizabeth Morton, all my Board colleagues and I also want to thank the people, organisations and businesses across Ayrshire who support this wonderful charity. Please continue with that support into 2018 and beyond”.
