Institute of Fundraising Scotland Awards 2017

As part of the Institute of Fundraising Scotland two day annual Conference their Awards Dinner was held on the evening of Tuesday 3rd October. Our fundraising team were successfully shortlisted in two award categories on the evening, competing against charities of all sizes across Scotland.

In the category of Voluntary Fundraising Group of the Year our Autumn Ball Committee were shortlisted for their dedication and commitment in organising such a successful annual fundraising event for the hospice.  2017 marked the 15th annual Autumn Ball at Seamill Hydro Hotel and during this time over £700,000 has been raised for the hospice at this event.  The committee work throughout the year to source sponsorship, auction and raffle prizes and to sell tickets for the event.  Pictured receiving their shortlisted certificate are committee members Linda Hill Miller, Karen Hailey, Graham Kirkwood, Theresa Fitzsimmons, Susan Young and Holly Woodhouse, unfortunately Chris McMail was unable to attend   Tracey Corrigan, Mary Drummond and Justine Cullen from the fundraising team also attended the event and our thanks go to all current and past committee members and everyone who supports the event.

In the category of Best Individual Giving Campaign we were successfully shortlisted for our Gift Aid Campaign “Tick, Sign and Send.”  The campaign raised awareness of the difference gift aid can make to increase donations for the hospice and to ask supporters who had already donated to the hospice to complete a gift aid declaration if they were able to do so.  With the simple message of “Tick, Sign and Send” this was a clear process and well received by our supporters.  This was only the third direct mail campaign carried out by our Individual Giving team so to be shortlisted against other Scottish charities entered in the awards was a great achievement.   Agnes and Kathryn from the fundraising team attended the event along with Dave Crowther from Mail Marketing who helped to produce the campaign.

Congratulations to our fundraising team for this great recognition of their outstanding work!
