Go Purple and collect in aid of the hospice!

Posted on 2 August 2016 by Monika Reichelt

We are getting ready to Go Purple again this year – our annual fundraising campaign will take place on Friday 7th October 2016 as part of UK Hospice Care Week. For this year’s campaign, the hospice have been arranging a series of bag packs and collections to raise vital funds for the local charity and are looking for volunteers to support the collections in their local communities.

Ron Swanson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at the Ayrshire Hospice said “This year we will celebrate the 5th anniversary of Go Purple and what better way to promote the campaign than by having a series of collections in our communities.  We are very fortunate to have the support of local supermarkets as well as South Ayrshire Council who have granted us a licensed permit. What we really need now is manpower to be able to collect buckets of funds and we want to ask the Ayrshire community to come out and support us. The collections can really be a lot of fun and we hope to raise fantastic funds for a local cause that is close to all our hearts.”

The Ayrshire Hospice have bag packs at Marks & Spencer Heathfield on 26th August and 21st October, a bucket collection at Morrisons in Ayr on 9th September, and a collection in Ayr Town Centre on 1st October.  To view a full list of upcoming bag packs and collections please visit the Events section at www.ayrshirehospice.org.  If you would like to register to volunteer at one of the collections or to find out more about Go Purple please contact the community fundraising team on 01292 288488 or email community@ayrshirehospice.org.
