Duncan’s Family Butchers are encouraging the Irvine and Ayrshire community to hold a barbecue to raise valuable funds in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice this June.

The Big Scotch Beef Sizzle, run by Scotland’s Hospices Together and incorporating Ayrshire Hospice, is set to see a burst of barbecue activity taking place throughout Scotland during June to raise funds for hospices around the country.

Supported by Scotch Beef PGI, the initiative will encourage Scots to get steaks and burgers on the barbecue to raise vital funds for hospice care.  The campaign is being generously sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland.

Scotland’s Hospices Together is a national partnership of nine of Scotland’s independent hospices and the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). The partnership aims to support and to highlight the work of hospice care in Scotland.

Duncan’s Family Butchers are valued members of Quality Meat Scotland and are delighted to support the campaign by encouraging the Irvine and Ayrshire community to hold a barbecue in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice this summer.

Ron Swanson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at the Ayrshire Hospice said “We are delighted that Duncan’s Family Butchers are getting behind the campaign to encourage the Irvine and Ayrshire community to hold a barbecue in aid of the hospice this June.  We need to raise around £20,000 per day to keep all our hospice services running and any support that the Ayrshire community can offer will be truly appreciated.  It’s fun to get involved in and we would encourage supporters to tag us @AyrshireHospice on social media with pictures of their fantastic barbecues!”
