Vintage shop display in Ayr

Recently our vintage shop welcomed some visitors from Ayrshire College when Ross Ball and Calum Morgan (who are studying Fashion) were assigned to do a window display in the unique shop on Kyle Street in Ayr.

Ross and Calum are frequent visitors to the shop and love rummaging through the vinyl selection where they often pick up lots of sought after records for their own collections.  They said:

“We are regulars to the shop. I think it’s pretty cool to have a genuine vintage place in Ayr. Usually you have to go to Glasgow to get anything like this. We mainly come in for the vinyl records but when you are in you always see lots of other great stuff, which is why we wanted to do the display here. Plus, the staff are so friendly - you know you will always get great banter from Eleanor and Susan when you’re here.”

Shop Manager Susan Tierney said “The lads were a pleasure to work with - a breath of fresh-air.  We have been getting lots of lovely comments about the window display – it’s very eye catching and I’m sure their college lecturer would be very impressed with it. We have so many one-off pieces that you just can’t find anywhere else. Working here really feels like a step back in time– I love it.”

Pop into the shop next time you are in  town and have a browse in the wide variety of uniquely dated treasures on offer.. Whether you are a retro enthusiast, a collector or part of a theatre group looking for authentic props there is a lot to see and marvel at. You never know what you are going to pick up!
