Fundraising Reception

We’re looking for a friendly, welcoming face to support the Ayrshire Hospice as part of our Fundraising Reception team at our office in Miller Road, Ayr. 

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get some varied experience in an office reception environment or to make use of their existing skills.  We really appreciate the valuable contribution of volunteers and could not do what we do without you. Your line manager will work with you to develop a structured plan for what you will be doing while you’re volunteering with us, and we will provide you with as much support as possible to help you develop your skills.

 Your main duties will include:

  • Dealing with enquiries, sales, donations and deliveries
  • Handling incoming calls both internal and external
  • Welcoming visitors and dealing with their enquiries
  • Assisting with general tasks that support the smooth running of the fundraising team

We’re looking for a friendly, creative and efficient person who has a basic understanding of administration and is computer proficient with Microsoft Office. In particular, you will be able to relate well to a variety of people and have good verbal and written communication skills.  You may not have had previous experience, however if you’re organised, enthusiastic and can use your initiative, we’d love you to apply.

How much time do I need to give?

Shifts are usually Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm and 1pm - 5pm. 

We have a vacancy on the rota every Thursday morning and every second Friday afternoon.
