John Corrigan is a former Chief Police Officer whose posts included Commander of Ayrshire, Assistant Chief of Strathclyde then Scotland’s first head of counter terrorism. He was awarded the Queens Police Medal in 2008. Since retiring from policing he has been an executive director of Victim Support Scotland, the owner of a leadership consultancy, held non-executive roles with a number of charities and with Kilmarnock Football Club.

He joined Ayrshire Hospice Board in 2012, serving on the full Board, various governance committees and facilitating our Business Ambassador programme. He was appointed chair of the Board in 2017.

When asked ‘Why Ayrshire Hospice?’ John explains ‘It is humbling to see at first hand the compassion, commitment and ingenuity of employed and voluntary staff who time and time again ‘make today matter’ for Ayrshire Hospice patients and their families. I simply want to play my part’.
