Our in-patient unit has the facility to care for 20 patients in a mix of single, double or three-bedded rooms. We offer a relaxed, homely environment where patients can spend quality time with family and friends.

Within the in-patient unit we can help to manage symptoms, and offer short-term intervention, multidisciplinary assessment as well as planned respite and end-of-life care. We plan individualised care in consultation with patients and families and our nursing team are present 24 hours a day.

Members of the clinical team that might be involved in in-patient unit care include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, our chaplain and a team of specifically trained volunteers.

Our facilities include comfortable lounge areas, a quiet room and extensive gardens. There are facilities for families to stay if needed, including our ‘wee house’ and lovely overnight stay accommodation.

Visiting times

We have open visiting times, allowing families to spend as much time together as they wish.  Please do bear in mind that large numbers of visitors can be tiring for some patients. Visiting is at the discretion of patients, staff and relatives.

Planning discharge

Many of our patients are able to return home after a stay in the in-patient unit. Discharge will be planned after discussion with the patient and their family.
