Who can volunteer?

  • People over the age of 16 years. 
  • People with compassion, sensitivity and a willingness to be involved in the service. 
  • People looking for a rewarding and structured way to make use of their spare time. 
  • People who wish to give something back to the community they live in. 
  • People looking to share their existing skills and ideas for the benefit of others. 
  • People with a desire to develop new skills and a route to a new career or opportunity. 
  • People who can become valuable hospice ambassadors - sharing our vision and philosophy with their community. 


'My dog Islay & I visit patients in the hospice wards & Solas day centre. Islay brings smiles to the faces of patients, visitors & staff alike. I find it a most rewarding & worthwhile experience.'
