Mascot Volunteer

Are you a super hero?  We are looking for additional team members to take on this fantastic volunteer role. You should be willing to act in character wearing the Agent H costume and engage with all staff and the general public, including children and the other mascots. This role will involve:

Mascot volunteers are community ambassadors for the hospice, taking our Agent H mascot out across Ayrshire to help spread the hospice message. You will need to:

  • Be willing to act in character wearing the Agent H mascot (padded costume provided) or provide an escort for Agent H acting as his minder / chaperone and “voice”
  • Be capable of light physical ability wearing a padded costume (waving, walking, kicking, handshaking)
  • Engage with all staff and the general public, including children and other mascots.
  • Be willing to travel around Ayrshire, preferably with own means of transport, although this is not essential.
  • Be willing to give out hospice information and talk informatively about the work of the hospice
  • Handle questions, enquiries and any donations in a professional manner à Providing information leaflets as requested
  • Attend relevant training and team meetings
  • Adhere to the relevant policies and procedures of the hospice
  • The Agent H costume is best suited to someone between 5’9” and 6’2” but chaperones can be of any stature.

How much time do I need to give?

Variable - dependent on events programme and requests for Agent H. Includes daytime, evening, weekday and weekend hours for between two and three hours per event.
