We currently have a 2 year fixed term vacancy for a Communications and Marketing Specialist.

About Us

The Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran.  We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself.  This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families.  Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.


The Role and what we are looking for

The Ayrshire Hospice seeks a talented and innovative Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our Communications Team for a fixed term period of 2 years.  We would be looking for you to be qualified to a degree level in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations subject and it would be desirable if you were a member of a relevant professional body, e.g. Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In your role you will work in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and other Senior Managers leading on the implementation and evaluation of the Communication Strategy.

We will be looking for you to have experience in a similar role with Management experience of all internal and external communications; key skills in understanding the political environment and an overall understanding of the business environment and current affairs.  The ability to work with various stakeholders, along with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential and at times distressing information.  To deliver promotional campaigns and marketing activities raising awareness and understanding of the services provided by Ayrshire Hospice.  Maximising support and promotion of our fundraising initiatives.

Your role occasionally will work with patients and families obtaining their stories and experiences, a desirable quality for this role will be empathy with an understanding of palliative care and hospice ethos.
