Shona is a Fellow of the CIPD and spent first 21 years of her career in Financial Services in a mix of HR and OD roles, ending up as Recruitment Manager for Scottish Widows. Since then she has worked in a series of interim roles in various different sectors - Higher Education, Further Education, Financial Services, software companies and CodeClan, the first digital skills academy in Scotland, which she helped set up. She has built up expertise over the years in recruitment, employee relations, job evaluation, HR systems, organisational development and psychometrics. She has worked in several Universities – Heriot-Watt, Stirling, Queen Margaret, Edinburgh Napier and with several colleges across Scotland including most recently, Dumfries and Galloway College. Her professional qualifications include MSc in Human Resource Management, Prince 2 and MAC. This is Shona’s first experience working for a charity and in a clinical organisation, so a double first for that!

In her spare time Shona loves to walk and is passionate about yoga and Zumba, although not at the same time… She is an avid theatre goer, with a season ticket for the Lyceum and has recently enjoyed going to live performances in the theatre again. A lover of live music, she went to see London Grammar just before last Christmas and is looking forward to seeing Coldplay in August. She has a daughter who is currently studying law at Edinburgh University and often looks after Mac the cockapoo who is her daughter’s dog. So walks in the countryside around Edinburgh and occasional trips to the beaches in Fife are a must!
