The environment in day services is welcoming, informal and relaxing; almost like a home from home. Patients visit for the day between 10am-3pm and we can provide care for 16 patients daily.

Using a “Your Day, Your Way” approach our day services team work with people to identify how our 12 week, self-management programme can best help them and their families.  The programme is designed to help people take greater control; to minimise the effects of illness and and side-effects of treatments.  This is sometimes called self-management, but that does not mean that it is done alone. We encourage people to involve family and friends, other day services attendees and the healthcare professionals - helping to problem solve and working towards achieving goals. Your Day, Your Way workshops are informal and give people an opportunity to ask questions and share their own experience as well as learning strategies and techniques that other people use.

Day services' attendees are able to participate in a range of relaxation sessions including mindfulness, meditation and progressive muscular relaxation. Complementary therapies are also available. They also have the opportunity to try a range of exercises including tai chi, gym exercises, garden walks and many more.

Access to day services is by referral from a GP or other healthcare professional. Following referral, our triage team will assess the individual needs of each patient and their family, and how we can best help them.

Due to current restrictions and social distancing we are unable to welcome anyone to our Day Services. We will reintroduce our Day Services in the coming months when it is safe to do so.

In its place we are currently offering a virtual service allowing patients and their carers access to our team of Physios, Complementary Therapists, Occupational Therapists and more.
