Organisational structure The Ayrshire Hospice is governed by a Board of Directors, membership of which is drawn from the Ayrshire community. Members of the Board are elected, non-executive Directors and Trustees of the hospice and have equal responsibility in law for the actions and decisions of the Board. The Senior Management Team consists of a Chief Executive, Patient Services Director, Director of Finance & Income Generation, Support Services Director and a Lead Consultant. This team is charged with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hospice and with ensuring that the hospice Board is properly advised for the purposes of developing and reviewing strategy. Each department within the hospice is managed by a designated Head of Department on a highly devolved basis, with individuals and teams being given as much responsibility as is possible within the confines of their training and experience. Effective communications structures, both formal and informal, ensure a good multidirectional flow of information which helps to support efficient and cost-effective organisational procedures.
