Ayrshire Hospice has launched a beautiful Forget-Me-Not display where supporters can donate towards a steel Forget-Me-Not ornament in memory of a loved one to support the local charity. The display was initially intended to go ahead in November 2020 but was postponed to June 2021 due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Ron Swanson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at Ayrshire Hospice said “The last year has been difficult for everyone and also a reflective time for many. One of the most heart-breaking aspects is that many so people were sadly unable to attend funerals last year which can be increasingly difficult for bereaved families.”

Ron continued “As we move into the summer months, we are proud to launch our first Forget-Me-Not display to remember loved ones in a personal way thanks to the wonderful support of East Ayrshire Leisure and The Dick Institute.”

You can visit Ayrshire Hospice’s ‘memory meadow’ display of
Forget-Me-Nots at the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock until 1st July 2021.

Councillor Elena Whitham, Chair of East Ayrshire Leisure Trust said, “We are absolutely delighted to host this display in the grounds of our spectacular Dick Institute.  We are delighted to be working with Ayrshire’s ‘Morrell’s Forge Blacksmiths’ who are making these beautiful Forget-Me-Nots. The display is not only raising money for a very worthwhile cause but is also providing many people with an avenue to pay tribute to loved ones, in both a beautiful and emotional way.”

The minimum donation for a Forget-Me-Not is £25 and all contributions will be gratefully received towards the round-the-clock care and services delivered across the community by Ayrshire Hospice. To make a donation towards one of the lovely forget-Me-Nots in memory of a loved one, please either phone the fundraising office on 01292 288 488 or visit Forget Me Not page to order yours today.
