Our work is vital work that is filled with moments that make people smile during a time that’s difficult for everyone. It’s about making today matter

The Ayrshire Hospice provides specialist palliative care and services to people affected by life-limiting illness across Ayrshire.  Care is provided where there is no cure for the condition, but which improves the quality of each day for people who have a limited time to live.  We help people to live as actively as they can to the end of their lives - however long that may be, where ever that may be.

Our in-patient unit has the facility to care for 20 patients in a mix of single, double or three-bedded rooms. We offer a relaxed, homely environment where patients can spend quality time with family and friends.

We are now seeking to recruit a motivated and talented Consultant to join our progressive medical team. The team provide input to all hospice services and are part of a Multi-professional team, the post holder would also be part of the Hospital Palliative Care team working within the University Hospitals in Ayr and Crosshouse.

You will be a part of the existing team looking at the strategic development of palliative care services across Ayrshire and Arran, with NHS Ayrshire and Arran and our 3 Health and Social Care Partnerships.

The Hospice is currently entering an exciting phase in its on-going development as we prepare for a Capital build project, giving us a Hospice fit for the 21st century.

The post holder will be issued with Honorary NHS contract.

Please note that for posts where a Disclosure Scotland check is applicable, the cost for this will be met by the successful candidates.
