Come and join the hospice team making today matter for patients and families across Ayrshire.  We currently have a vacancy for a Charge Nurse within our busy In-Patient Unit and Day Services Team.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran.  We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself.  This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families.  Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.

We have an opportunity for a Charge Nurse to join our In-Patient Unit and Day Services Team.  With minimal supervision and in collaboration with the MDT you will be accountable for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the In-Patient Unit and Day Services. You will be the shift leader and will oversee the performance of the nursing team to ensure the highest quality of care delivery.

You must have knowledge of palliative care, excellent communication/interpersonal/leadership skills, be able to deal with distressing and emotional situations.  You will also be able to demonstrate evidence of your continuous professional development.  Ideally you will also have both experience within a palliative care setting and first line management experience.
