How to Become a Volunteer

If you would like to help make a difference through volunteering, please complete an application form and return it to us at the Hospice. Application forms are available by clicking here or by telephoning the Hospice on 01292 269200. Alternatively, you could pop into the Hospice or any Hospice Charity Shop to pick up an application pack.

When an application form is received, references will be checked and an initial interview will be arranged with the Voluntary Services Manager to discuss your offer of help. This will usually take place within 2 - 3 weeks of an application being received. All offers of a volunteer role with the Hospice will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check being carried out.

Volunteers are placed (after attending the general induction session) according to their interests, skills and experience, together with the needs of the Hospice at the time.

All volunteers are offered a general induction to the Hospice setting and further specific training for the area where they will be based. Additional Helping Skills and Health & Safety training is also provided. Ongoing support is provided via regular meetings and further training as required.
