Apollo Leisure ~ "Quantum of Solace"

Apollo Leisure in Saltcoats held a special film night for friends and family to come and see the new James Bond film "Quantum of Solace". The night was huge success and enjoyed by all. Pictured is Celina Graham and Jimmy Graham presenting Louis Jardine the Ayrshire Hospice Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £3,069.04.

     

Vein Showband

Family and friends of Margaret Udell did a sponsored walk and her former employers Dreghorn Co-op topped up their efforts to a whopping £5,000.  Then members of the Vein Showband presented us with a further £800 in memory of Margaret.

Lands End to John o’Groats

Ochiltree girl Dianne Harrison got on her bike recently and cycled the length of Britain - but from top to bottom.  She and her two friends Andrew and Pauline started at Lands End and made their way to John o’Groats raising £2,200 for the Hospice. 

 

     

Charity Golf Day

Ron Carney and John Muir were instrumental in organising a charity Golf Day at Routenburn Golf Club, Largs and we were delighted to receive a bumper cheque for £2,515.

Burnockmill Equestrian

Julie and Stuart Watson who run Burnockmill Equestrian near Ochiltree are committed Hospice supporters.  They donated entry money totalling £500 from their Open Show and are pictured presenting their cheque.

     

Hurlford Bowling Club

The ladies of Hurlford Bowling Club have supported the Hospice for many years and this was no exception.  They are pictured presenting Louis with a bumper cheque for £1,158.

Golf and Horseshoe Bars

Staff and customers of the Golf and Horseshoe Bars in Ayr held a golf day followed by a dinner dance and presented us with the proceeds - £1,190 – thanks to all.

     

Strathclyde Police Benevolent Fund

The long arm of the law visited the fundraising office recently in the form of Sergeant Martin Porter who presented us with a fantastic cheque for £5,000 from Strathclyde Police Benevolent Fund.

We like to ride our Bycle

Six solo riders & three teams of two from Walkers cycle club lined up at Fort William at 5:30am to attempt to cycle the whole of the West Highland Way in one day, in so doing, raising funds for the Ayrshire Hospice.  The last riders reached Milngavie at 11.30pm – tired but happy to have raised £2,028!

     

Prestwick Academy

Pictured is Gordon Bone, Headmaster and some of the pupils presenting Louis Jardine, Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £311.70 which they raised from holding a Coffee Morning.  A big thank you to all who supported them and attended their Event.

A Trekking They Go!

Ayr Young Farmers joined the Ayrshire Hospice Trek round the Isle of Cumbrae on 7th September 2008.  Pictured they are presenting Louis Jardine, Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £960.72. It was a fun day out - click here to see what you missed.

at Crosne Street Sheltered Housing Unit

Residents at Crosne Street Sheltered Housing Unit are picture presenting Louis Jardine, Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £450 being money they raised throughout the year.

 
     
 

Gribbens go Barking Mad

Staff of Gribbens Taxis Ltd were most generous and raised the fantastic sum of £1,853.87 towards the Ayrshire Hospice Waggy Tail Walk.  Drivers Joanne McGarry, David Ovenstone, Terry Wright, Clark Lee, Tom Davidson, Billy McCulloch (and Douglas Duffy from DP Motor Sports who was unable to be in the photograph) donated their day’s taxi fares and tip takings. 

     

The Hospice gets a hole in one

The ladies' from Irvine Golf Club present Louis Jardine, Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £880 raised from raffle and tombola events during their Ladies Open Golf Day on the 7th July 2008.

The Stepper Challenge - 16th August 2008

Tesco Extra, Ayr opened their doors to the Ayrshire Hospice by allowaing Genesis Gymnasia to bring two STEPPERS into the store. We had 7 teams who had a one hour allocated slot to see how many steps they could climb on one stepper.  The second stepper was used by Tesco Staff and customers. Throughout the day customers gave generously and raised the magnificent sum of £506.50.

Charity from the Castle

For the last year, patrons at the luxurious Glenapp Castle in Ballantrae have been asked to consent to 50 pence being added to their bill as a donation to the Hospice.  Guests were extremely generous and recently Fay and Graham Cowan presented Louis Jardine with a cheque for the magnificent sum of £4,300. 

     

Enjoy a Cuppa at Grange Academy

Fifth year pupils Kathryn Bell, Yasmin Miller and Jessica Meek are pictured presenting Justine Cullen, Ayrshire Hospice Fundraiser with a cheque for £627.47. This staggering amount was raised by the girls who made tea and coffees for parents and teachers. Well Done!!

Ayr Fire Fighers Scrub for the Ayrshire Hospice

Ayr Fire Fighters supported the Ayrshire Hospice on Satruday 22nd June 2008.  The Fire Staion was open to the public for a charity car wash.
