Day Hospice

Our spacious, custom-built Day Hospice provides care for up to 16 patients each day with Nursing, Medical, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services tailored to individual need.

Day Hospice patients can enjoy a regular day out and this provides a day off for carers at home.

Attendance at Day Hospice includes opportunities for a variety of social and craft activities for group and individual therapy and can also provide an introduction to the Hospice and all its services.

Transport to and from Day Hospice is provided by a team of volunteer drivers and visits afford patients living at home the benefit of treatment and advice from a doctor, or just the opportunity to have a bath, visit the hairdresser and enjoy the company of new friends.

Care is provided by a team of nurses skilled in palliative care with the support of trained volunteers. Patients can discuss with the Occupational Therapist, any difficulties they may be experiencing at home with domestic activities such as cooking and bathing and, if necessary, home visits can be arranged to help ease such problems through advice or the loan of equipment.

Social advice and support is provided by the Hospice social workers and spiritual support is available, if requested, from our Chaplain.
